Georgetown, BC Honors, or Tufts?

I am from the Boston area so BC and Tufts are a lot closer, but I also love Washington, D.C. and Georgetown. I was accepted into BC Honors, but also got half of much financial aid as I did from Gtown. I'm torn.

any outside opinion?

I would go to Tufts over BC.

and gtown?

It’s probably not worth all the travel… I had a friend who went there and hated it. additionally it only has a 90% retention rate,

ok thank you

If you like BC, show them the GU offer and ask that they re-look at your numbers. Neither college is known to be generous and since both colleges offer only need-based aid, and I’m surprised that they ended up so far apart.

the bc site says that they will not consider appeals based on what students have received from other schools… it might be worth a shot tho

What’s your intended major? If it’s IR, then it really doesn’t matter if you go to Tufts or GT (or BC really, for undergrad). However, Gtown isn’t known for having all-around strong academic programs, so you’d have to look at that department carefully. If you’re undecided, I’d say Tufts or BC, Tufts definitely if it’s cheaper.

i want to major in either economics or mathematics

What do you want to do for a job? (e.g. Wall Street, Academia, Government, etc.)

if i major in mathematics probably an actuary or accountant… or go to law school? economics id consider law school or see what opportunities are out there

which school would better fit my interests does anyone know… i feel like they are on the same level

if you want to go to law school, i think Georgetown would be better. I personally would choose georgetown over bc any day, but thats just me.

how does tufts compare in mathematics or economics with gtown

What school within georgetown have you been accepted to? college or school of business?

the college

If it’s gtown college and bc honors I think bc would be the better choice. Georgetown is more known for it’s school of foreign service

Tufts would be a solid choice here. BC Honors is great, but if they are not showing you the money, could you justify going there?

Good luck.
