Dream shattered.
@gam1300 We are in Southern California and we did get 2 letters. Havenât opened them yet as daughter isnât home.
@knit2create ok, could you please tell me the results when you open the letters, please
@gam1300 Everyone in my town in SoCal got a letter today.
@gam1300 Deferred!!
Son was deferred. Fortunately he has other EA acceptances, so he wasnât too crushed.
Iâm not sure how great this is going to sound coming from someone who has been accepted, but a deferral from Georgetown does not, in any way, equal a rejection. They really do re-evaluate you in the spring, with no prejudice. My very talented friend who is now a freshman at Stanford was deferred from Georgetown EA, and was accepted later.
How archaic for Georgetown to use mail service as the way to notify prospective students? Especially this time of year. Do they not have access to the internet in the Admissions office?
@CaliDadio I kind of like it. The feeling of opening the letter not knowing whatâs inside seems so much more authentic than just opening an email.
Iâm very excited to have been accepted into Georgetown just a couple days ago! However, I applied as a political economy major and was having second thoughts. How possible would it be for me to switch to MSB before I attend? I got into Notre Dame and BCâs buisness schools and I only applied to Georgetownâs college because I thought it would be cool studying politics in DC lol
Between my Subject Tests, ACTs, and SATs, I have had five total standardized test sittings. I am applying RD to Georgetown, but the application appears to only have four spots to list test dates (The 5th date appears to be only for the TOEFL). Should I just leave one test date out of the application and still send the scores from all 5 dates? Or am I just being an idiot and is there a way to report 5 test dates?
@RustyRaven thatâs an excellent question and they definitely want all scores. I call them and ask them what they suggest. Or just make sure you send everything, but only put the best scores on there. So if your SATâs were better than your ACTâs put your SATâs, your subject tests, and then send the ACTâs and maybe a note to your admissions rep letting them know you did this. Iâm sure this happens a lot being they want three subject tests and most people spread them out.
@CaliDadio , get used to it. I dislike the way Gtown does a lot of things compared to my older sonâs school.
