How many deferred applicants actually get accepted through regular decision?

I think it’s 10% or so

As others have noted, the acceptance rate is pretty meaningless since you have no idea of the characteristics of the applicant pool. All that universities provide are details on SAT, GPA and class rank but high schools differ widely. I’m a Freshman and we have kids from high selective private high schools with just 3.5 GPAs. Then again, they took university level classes. Others here did internships in Russia, etc. So a lot more is involved.

Do you guys think I have a chance with a 32 ACT?

I just don’t know how i’m going to open the mailbox. So much anxietyyyyyyy

5 days at most, woah. WOAH

I hope it comes this Saturday…I don’t think I can keep my cool until Monday afternoon

I didn’t add a resume to my application. Will that hurt me?

@writeallnight @lunascreatures I’m also a semifinalist for NSLI-Y [and a NSLI-Y alum hehe]. I’ll be making some tough decisions as well if I get NSLI-Y. It’s an amazing program, best experience of my life. Best of luck! I’d definitely consider a gap year if things worked out with whatever college I go to.

When do we freakin hear. If I live in the northeast do you think Ill know before monday the 15th?

@asdfghjkll Yeah you’ll definitely hear before. I live in california so i’ll probably be one of the late ones hearing on the 15th … erg im so anxious kids at my school are already getting accepted to their schools

Anyone know when mail is going out? could it be thursday?

@Sachem797 dunno exactly but I remember in one of the past threads it was Dec 11, so yeah high chance it’s tomorrow going out… or who knows maybe they’re already sent and people will be getting decisions tomorrow :P

god damn it i can’t focus on anything and even have the ACT this saturday… damn it and so many other tests to study :(

I’ve been freaking out over this for the past couple days and someone just gave me some good advice.

At the end of the day, these admission committees make their decision based off of who is most likely to thrive at the school. If we don’t get in, maybe it’s in our best interest. There’s no use in wondering about what could have been instead of focusing on what is.

That being said, I hope we all get in.

^ Yeah, i hear that a lot… it does make sense logically but i just can’t convince myself like that … dunno if I want my mom to open my decision for me at school and let me know… I know that either way, rejected or accepted, I will be hysterically crying

Is there is a chance that decisions come today?

Probably not. Apparently they are sending the letters out today

When would someone in NJ get it?

I think you could possibly get it on Saturday but that’s doubtful. So more likely on Monday.

If everyone really will know by the 15th, letters would have to be mailed today at the very latest…
