@dominoesniall It was just about if the admitted student answered of if it was a voicemail or a parent. We could leave additional notes too if we wanted.
For those who are curious, this has probably been said, but envelopes for admitted students have a few pieces of paper, one of which is blue. I think I could kind of tell by how it felt that it was a few pieces of paper, but once you open it you can tell for sure. Good luck to everyone who has yet to hear!
FYI, a 13% admittance rate for EA …

Does anyone know if the acceptance letter is followed by an information packet?
“Typically, about 15 percent of the candidates deferred from Early Action are successful during the spring review.”
Assuming this trend holds, that means more EA applicants will be deferred & accepted for RD than accepted EA. So don’t give up hope!
I still have not gotten anything in the mail yet and am starting to worry that I did something wrong with my application. At first I just assumed I was deferred but I don’t know how I’m supposed to know without getting a letter…? I’m in Georgia if that helps at all.
@girlwithbangs call the admissions office. They will tell you.
Congratulations to all who got in. Better options, that suit you more, await for those who didn’t
Curious what you guys thought of your FA packages. I applied last year (SFS) but did not attend because of my FA award. Going to Georgetown would have meant a lot of loans, whereas my packages from Columbia and Amherst were all grant.
Anyone else get a handwritten note from admissions today?
I got one!!! Apparently my admissions rep really liked the essay that I hate
Do you think everyone will be getting those handwritten notes? I didn’t receive one (yet, at least)
So basically it’s a Christmas card with a handwritten note inside from my admissions rep (I live in Michigan) and her business card. I assumed all accepted students would get one (since the note is in a Georgetown Christmas card and not just on paper or whatever) but they’ll of course vary based on the representative in terms of content of note.
I remember that ds got one of those. In fact we were just talking about it over dinner tonight.
I got a handwritten note too! I think Georgetown does a great job of really making the process feel personal and making you feel as though they really care about getting to know you.
