Georgetown in the next USNEWS Ranking?

What will be Georgetown's rank in the next USNEWS ranking? I am just wondering where you all think it will go, and your justifications for that.

Personally, I think that Georgetown will rise to maybe #22, because the applicant pool has been getting increasingly qualified and it is getting much harder to gain admission. Also, their budgetary problems are lessening, and are not as pressing as they used to be. Also, there are many universities that I feel will decrease in rank, such as UCLA, Carnegie Mellon, and Vanderbilt, mainly due to budget problems for UCLA, and lessening interest in the other two.

I don't know why their ranking is so low, anyways, regardless of budget problems. Does anyone know how many applied this year as opposed to last year?

When do the new rankings come out?

what was it last year?

I'm as obsessed with rankings as the next person, but I honestly don't think there's much difference between, say, #10 and #25. Any school that's on the "Top National Universities" list is going to be a good one, so it doesn't really matter to me if Georgetown is #22 or #12. Because it'll always be #1 in my heart. Haha, ok, I'll stop.

LOL

ambronte- about 4,000 people applied early action this year.

I don't think any numbers have been released, but I have emailed Georgetown and The Hoya about it, and am awaiting a response. I would like to see the profile for the EA applicants.

Gtown should be a top 15 school, if you ask me. Not that you're asking.

I think it should be, too. Definitely above some that are in the Top 15 (cough Vanderbilt cough).

yeah, what's up with that? I only heard of Vanderbilt through college football.

Me too. And IMO they're all a little elitist/old decaying Southern aristocracy, too. And I hear the undergrad experience isn't very good.

gtown was 22 last year
