Georgetown Junior Transfer

I’m going to be starting university next fall at a top 100 four year institution, but my hope is to transfer into Georgetown’s political science program my junior year. Besides getting a MUCH better GPA and getting as involved as possible, what should I do during my freshman and sophomore years at college to help my chances, and also can I retake the ACT while I’m in college? Thanks!

HS GPA: 2.8
Current ACT: 26

I’m in the exact same boat as you haha! I really wanna go to Georgetown. We have the same GPA but I took the SAT and got a 1290. And I’m almost positive that you can take the ACT in college, (definite for SAT because you have to bring a gov. issued ID if you’re over 21) But I think our best bet is to make sure our GPA is at least over a 3.8 but still taking rigorous enough classes. Furthermore, before signing up for classes check to see if most will transfer over if you get accpeted — it’s called Government in the course catalog and not Poli Sci.
