I have realized that it is strongly recommended to send in three SAT subjects tests when applying to Georgetown, but I missed the December first date and the next testing date isn’t until May. Georgetown was already a reach for me, so does not having sat subject test scores terribly hurt my chances?
Yes. They were clear at the info session that you need a very good reason to not submit them.
Yes. Most applicants will have 3 subject test scores. As a reach school for everyone, why send in an application that does not have all components that your competitors will have?
Lots of threads on CC about what ‘strongly recommended’ really means. Only reasons to not have them include financial hardship (and SAT fee waivers can be applied to Subject tests) or access to testing center (rural and/or international locations).
I have 2 fantastic sat2 scores and one bad- really bad. I wasn’t feeling great and it was the last time you could take it for this season’s testing (I should have signed up earlier for the 3rd). Do you think this is going to knock me out? How scores oriented are they?
It depends on a lot more than that. If The two subject tests you did well on are related to your major and the one you did poorly on is unrelated that helps. If you’re overall ACT or SAT score is up to their standards and your GPA is up to their standards, one subject test shouldn’t knock you out. And of course good ECs will help along with your stats. If all and all you’re up to par for Georgetwon except for one subject test, you’re still in the running. Best of luck!
