I have a question about Georgetown’s score policy. I know they say that they don’t have Score choice, so do I HAVE to send in my SAT score, even though I focused on the ACT? My SAT score is not very good for GU, but my ACT score is in the 80th percentile, so obviously I want to focus on that. If I just don’t send my SAT scores, will they know?
Yes. Georgetown’s policy will require you to send your SAT score, but if your ACT score is better, what will most likely happen is they’ll just ignore the SAT score and look at your ACT score. The reason why they want you to send all your scores is because they want to see where your strengths are, so they’ll look at your stronger score.
thank you so much! So it won’t hurt me if my SAT score isn’t great?
My daughter had this same situation. Her ACT was better than her SAT and she wanted to send only the ACT and her 3 SAT subject tests. A woman from admissions was adamant that if she had taken the SAT she needed to send it too. After that conversation she did send all her scores, mostly as an honor code type of thing. But I have no idea if the school would know if you took it and didn’t send it. Either way my daughter didn’t want to take the risk. She was admitted EA, so the less desirable SAT score did not hurt her.
Thank you for the help!
