I am from Texas, and have been accepted to both UT Business Honors and Plan II as well as Georgetown School of Foreign Service.
I know that they are completely different fields, but I am not really looking for answers like "try and figure out which area of interest you like more," because that isn't really what I am looking for.
I want to know the intangibles as to why one would be better than the other, idk. Sorry for the vagueness, but any input could help.
My family is financially sound, so that doesn't really matter. I am just worried that maybe I will want to go to grad school, in that case UT would be better. However, I really like politics/govt so maybe GTown would be better.

From a financial perspective. If I wanted to save my money for grad school, I would go to UT which is nearly 1/3 the price of Georgetown undergrad. Sorry for the confusion.

Try sfs. If you like it stay. If you do not transfer to ut. Sfs is an elite education and an extremely intellectually stimulating environment. The university community is very tight knit.
You may realize you do not need grad school, unless it is for law or a phd. I would not waste the opportunity, but that is just me. You only live once. Go for the best.

Are you good at foreign language? SFS has a proficiency requirement for graduation. Actually its a fluency requirement. The other Georgetown colleges have the lesser proficiency requirement. If you are good with language and enjoy them, go to SFS. If language is not your thing, go to UT or consider Georgetown McDonough Business or Georgetown College. What 1789 said is correct. Go for the best.

Thanks so much y’all! Your input has been helpful. I have been definitely leaning towards Gtown, but UT has been lingering in the back of my mind.

And AvonHSDad, I am pretty proficient at Spanish. I am hoping to pick up another language in college, either Portuguese or French. I definitely think GTown has the best FLL program in the country. I just still have no idea.

I would go to Georgetown. Absolutely amazing program, and if you are interested in picking up another language, Georgetown is the place to do it. If you’re interested in Business, they have a program in the SFS called “Science, Tech, and International Affairs” where you can focus in Business, Growth, and Development if you wish to.
