Georgetown students

I am considering applying to Georgetown, as many people in this board are (I'm assuming). So be completely honest: Do you like it? I know the academics are great, but from a students point of view, and not a books, are you actually enjoying your time there? Student/teacher relationships, city life, student life, housing, etc. Thanks mucho for any and all info.

Just apply anyway. It's probably the easiest application I've ever done. (FYI I'm not a current student)

yeah im going to apply, but its good to know what actual students think beforehand

was it really that easy? i certainly hope so

Yeah- it was pretty easy. On par with the CommonApp (which, if you're not aware, is extremely easy and straightforward).

well thats good to hear! everyone makes it seem soooo stressful...but its hard to tell. so thanks for actually posting something good

Anytime. ;)

any actual students want to confirm?

Well I don't go to Georgetown, but I wish I did. I actually got in there last year EA and was thrilled and planned on going there. Then I got into Stanford, where I applied just on a whim. I chose Stanford because of the "prestige" and now I regret it. That probably doesn't help you much though lol.

I think you should find out on your own whether Georgetown is for you. Just asking people if they like it isn't going to tell you much. There are people who like it and people who don't. shrug visiting is best but if you're far away, explore the website? idk

I am visiting it during spring break this year. I am also visiting NYU, Princeton, and Sarah Lawrence. I know that visiting it is the best way but sometimes I get some great advice from people by asking simple questions like these. They might be able to tell me about campus life, teacher-student relationships, etc. Stuff that the website cannot honestly tell you about.

Oh good! I hope you have a good tour of those colleges. You can also talk to people on campus (provided you don't visit when they have spring break also..then the campuses tend to be kind of empty) for a really good perspective.

I checked and made sure that there is school that day. I'm trying to see about sitting in on a class, but I'm not sure if I will be able to. I'm really excited!

let me tell you something...i am from karachi, pakistan...i applied to gtown..why? dont ask me....and now that i think about it...i realize i made the best decision of my life...gtown is AMAZING. i love it..its beautiful...its awesome...nothing can describe it...i had heard nothing about georgetown...just came here after a 26 hour flight...and fell in love with the place....there is nothing bad about gtown...being international i did not have a chance to visit any campus...and somehow i think thats really good....coz then you make choices which you later on regret...i only had gtown as a choice....and man, i am glad i made the choice of attending....i am a freshman currently....hit me up with more questions if you want info. gracias. adios amigo/a

Hey everyone! I'm a sophomore at Gtown and I love it here! Granted I don't enjoy all of my classes, I just love the people and college life here. There is always something for you to do. It's always got at least 2 or 3 activities going on everyday, numerous organizations, which you can sign up for at SAC fair. If you ever do get sick of campus, you just make your way over to Rosslyn and catch the METRO to malls in VA or fun areas of DC. The cab systems works in your favor here too, because they don't run on meters. From museums, to clubs, to parties, to fun fundraising activities, its just so much fun that every person I've met is sad that they are graduating. I never thought I'd be able to find a perfect fit like G-town, especially when my first choice was NYU and I was only going to Gtown by my parent's choice. Well, from NSO on I couldn't help but be in love with Georgetown and I hope I never leave. :-)
