Hey everyone. I was on this board a lot last year so I thought I'd come back and say hi (it's been so long I had to re-register.)

Anyway, I REALLY wanted to go to Georgetown, applied EA, got in and was thrilled. Then, by some fluke, I got into Stanford too, where I had just applied on a whim. Because of the "prestige" factor of Stanford, I ended up going there instead of Georgetown, which i had always been more passionate about.

Anyway, just wanted to say if i had it to do over again, I'd go to georgetown. Stanford may be heaven for a lot of people, but I kinda wish i was on the Hilltop.

aww, really? i'm applying to both schools too, so i'm kind of interested in why you feel that way... i don't want to regret my choice if it does come down to those two, too!

i'm thinking about the exact same two schools and i got in to sfs ea, and I would choose stanford cuz of the prestige. what dont you like about stanford?

I dunno...the campus is really self-contained and it's sorta a hassle to get off campus. As a result you spend almost all you're time around campus, and there really isn't that much to do on campus. It's like you never see that outside world. At Georgetown, M Street is just like a block away. This may not seem like a big deal, but its the kind of thing you don't think about until you get to a school.

hey trojan, i remember you. i hope you remember me, this is chicane, and i am at georgetown currently, and it is AWESOME !

Chicane... are you the person from Pakistan who got a full scholarship? That's cool.

And Trojan- maybe you can transfer? PS- I'm right next to you! I live in Oakland- Palo Alto's not too far away! :)

yes, thats me..i got a full tuition scholarship, and busy filling out a financial aid form for its renewal....aaargh...how i hate filling out forms...memories of last year come back (not very pleasant ones :) )

trojan, a friend of mine got into stanford, but unfortunately he did not get his visa, so he is still stuck in pakistan. however 2 other people from my school got in ED/EA ? into stanford.

i thought both gtown and stanford are single choice ea.. how did u pull it off?

gtown's not single choice ea...it's completely non-binding

Yeh I know that... but if you apply to Gtown EA, you can't apply anywhere else... That's what SC-EA means...

Like EA is completely non-binding, but there's a difference between HYS/Gtown and Chicago (you can apply to other schools early).

i hope this clears things up: http://www.georgetown.edu/undergrad/admissions/EarlyActionPolicy.htm

basically it says that you can apply to other EAs but not any EDs. single-choice EAs say you can't apply to any EDs or EAs, so it's not quite a single-choice policy.
