Georgetown Transfer 2017

Hi everyone!

I was not able to find a thread for students considering transferring to Georgetown in Fall of 2017 so I started one! I was wondering if anyone could chance me.
Current College: University of Tennessee
College GPA: 3.86 / 4.00
HS GPA: 3.2 (my biggest concern)
ACT: 28 but planning to retake
I have an extensive list of extracurriculars for both high school and college and leadership experience. I would be glad to give more information if needed! My main concern is my high school GPA.

Hi! I’m also looking to transfer to Georgetown in the fall of 2017 but don’t really know if I have a shot - does anyone know the average college GPA they accept? Do I have a better chance of getting in because I’ll be applying for a junior year transfer?

@liak247 I plan on transferring in two years (senior right now) but I know the minimum is a 3.0 but I think their CDS said that somewhere about a 3.7 gives a fair shot. keep in mind their acceptance rate drops to, I believe, 13% for transfers. I guess what I’ve learned is that the essay should be really strong as to why you want to transfer and your SAT/ACT should still be in their percentiles. Of course extracurriculars are important especially being in college

Bring it here! We could use more traffic and Georgetown transfer input

Just so you guys know they made a Georgetown transfer 2017 group and they have had 12 new members recently. So that might mean they took some people off the waitlist already or students have said yes. Currently about 100 students said yes.
