I was accepted - and astonished. most likely attending if financial aid is good!

Whoops. Well, if that did not bring him out of hiding, I don't know what will.

Congrats sub_atomic! I got my financial aid letter the next mail day and it was great. I got the new student orientation handbook a few days later. Still no credit evaluation.

sub_atomoic..congrats!!...which school did you apply to?..could you post your stats?...and when did you ger a letter??...

I echo Aquamarine's statement.

hey yall,
i was wondering if financial aid is need based or merit based. thanks.

my mom got the letter on may 19th (I am still at school - just finished exams!). Waiting on financial aid and transfer credit. I applied to the college, planning on studying English and Anthropology.
I've never actually posted my stats, so I'm not sure what's relevant and what isn't! SAT I (old) - 1450, SATIIs were writing, literature, and biology (800, 750, and 600 respectively). don't actually know my High school GPA... probably around 3.8. Current grades... 16.5, 17, 18 (UK marking scale).

i am transferring in as a sophmore and i was wondering if ur freshman yr GPA transfers over to gtown or if u start new. thanks.

hey guys-

i got my letter of acceptance yesterday and will definitely be transferring to GU! I am so excited, and happy that the wait is over. I hope that everyone else hears good news soon, good luck to all.

PS I posted my stats on page 32 and the letter had $0.58 postage on it in a small envelope and is dated May 17.

can someone please provide me the email address for admissions?

pittransfer..congrats~!!!...what other stuffs inside small envelope besides the acceptance letter??..

inside the envelope is the letter, a form to sign and return if you plan to attend and a return envelope, a transfer student info sheet and general info sheet.
i hope yours comes soon, aqua!!!

pittransfer,

Did you do a lot of ECs in high school and/or college?

JT-

i did a lot of extracurriculars in high school. i left school early everyday to go to ballet, and i was a professional ballet dancer for 4 years. in addition to that, i did musical theatre @ school, student government, national honor society, a bunch of nerdy science stuff, etc etc.

i have only been a full time college student for one year, and before that went to school part time while i was dancing for pittsburgh ballet theatre, so i wasn't there long enough to really be involved, plus i didn't really like my school. i was involved with the honors college.

if i had to guess as to why i got in, i would say it's probably because of my ballet career. it seems to me that they are looking for people who have something unique about them, and that would be the most unique thing about me.

i'm pretty sure that i'm not getting in.. but i'm crossing my fingers to just hear the news THIS WEEK. sick of waiting!

i hope that good news comes soon pink! :)

I sent email to the admission officer to check a tentative decision two weeks ago and she told me my application is under review.
and she also said "I will email you by the middle to end of next week."...

But I haven't received any email from her.
So I just sent email to the admission officer.
BUT...it said..."This is an automatic reply. I will be out of the office until Tuesday May 22nd."

:(...I think I have to wait until Wednesday...:(..

is she m. foy?

flyingxuan...no..she is not my admission officer...sorry..:)

I JUST GOT IN, they mailed the letter to my house and my mom called me at breakfest this morning, I am so excited

I GOT IN!! :) :) :)

My letter was postmarked May 18, I applied to the College as a biology/psychology double major. I had called approximately two weeks ago and I was informed that they had not "made a decision" on my file which led me to believe I was not going to be accepted. Two weeks letter = acceptance!! Therefore, for those still waiting, do not give up hope, stay positive. :)

Stats: I am transferring from SUNY Stony Brook, 3.97 GPA with 76 credits (approximately 18 credits are independent research credits). I have conducted drug addiction and ADHD research, co-authored several published articles/abstracts, have been involved in a bunch of neat extracurricular activities, and possess a substantial amount of clinical experience.

I did not submit my SAT Scores since I have been out of HS for awhile studying classical ballet, and maintained a B+ average in high school while juggling pre-professional classical ballet training to the tune of 2-3 hours per day. Pitttransfer, if you attend, we should definitely meet up! ;)

I'm beyond excited, this is one of the best birthday presents ever! :)

Good luck everyone! :)
