Georgetown Transfer Thread

31 days? I skimmed last year’s thread and it seemed the acceptances were sent out by mid-May. People who found out in June were mostly rejected I think.

I’m scared guys :frowning: My friend and I have similar stats and he found out Friday…

Borges,

Was your friend accepted? Which school? Please join our group (If you didn’t already)

Thanks!

Every time my phone beeps that I have an email I jump out of my chair a little. So nervous!

I’m getting freaked out that a bunch of people have already heard back. I fell asleep before the chat, my bad!

Novastudent, ya he was accepted to the College I think. Is the group for CCers or accepted students? I’ll join if I get accepted :)

alyssa, me too!!

No worries, chat round 2 tonight!

@Borges,

Join! it’s for us current applicants. So we can see the chat conversations. Im in Zurich so I missed the chat last night.

btw, I accidentally just rejected someone’s request to join. I

Is anyone else checking this page religiously? It’s making studying for finals so difficult…

Yes. When you replied I thought someone else had gotten accepted lol. We should start another chat…

Yes please. None of my friends at Vandy know I applied so I have no one to talk about my anxiety to!

I’ll start the chat up at around 6 PM EST when I get home! Don’t leave me hanging guys I need to get through the wait with some help here lol

gahhh so anxious! i probs won’t get in cuz of my messed up high school transcript that apparently doesn’t have my senior year grades ><. if i don’t hear anything within the first 2.5 weeks of may, i’m assuming i got rejected :(.

@ esthetique - what do you mean? Are you 2 yrs out of HS at this point?

I just wish I had some idea of how likely it was that I’d be admitted. I mean I have a 3.9 at Vandy after my first semester, and I obviously had a strong freshmen application in that I was waitlisted last year and was able to get into a school like Vandy, but I just have no clue…

@futurepresident - you’re probably gonna get in with those stats, and plus, if you don’t - you always have next yr to apply as I’m guessing you’re a freshman right now?

yeah I’m currently a freshman. I applied to SFS though so who really knows…
I probably won’t reapply if I don’t get in this time. There are some amazing things about Vandy, and I wouldn’t be transferring because I’m unhappy but because I see more future potential at a school like georgetown that is so close to DC. I would love to get in, so I hope that doesn’t come across that I don’t really want to get in. I just have a pretty stable back up (my current school) if I don’t get in ya know? Plus, I wouldn’t want to pay for the application and write my essays. If they waitlist me twice (or reject me this time) then I think it’s a sign that I wasn’t meant to go there. Always grad school? haha

I agree- but as we’ve seen waitlistees seem to have a one up. It ain’t over till it’s over… or until it’s mid-May haha.

So acceptances are only before June 1st? I assumed you could receive positive news until June 1st, but it seems not based off what I’m reading.

It seems like they send out all acceptances during the 1st half of May. Last year people started hearing yes/no’s from the waitlist on may 23rd so acceptances now, rejections towards the end of may must be the trend :/

I don’t want to start a panic, but I believe decisions began to roll out around this time last Friday… So nervous!
