You may want to check the college vine chancing app, which provides information taking gender and ethnicity into account. Are you attending a Catholic high school? At what kind of competition were your best delegate awards? I think you would definitely need the MUN to overcome the low ACT scores, and it’s no secret Georgetown has relationships with Catholic high schools. You may also want to consider whether you want to attend a private school that is unlikely to give you extra time if you did not get it for ACT.

My awards were for Florida International University’s Model UN Conferences, they’re the top MUN team in the state. I attend a public school in Florida. My extended time is for medical reasons, my school counselor had done something wrong when applying for extended time on the ACT.

I’ve been nervous because of my ACT scores since they’re definitely not the best. I hope they are able to see my growth in math and science though.

Don’t be nervous. Seems like you did your best. There are very many fine schools on your list for IR across a spectrum of selectivity. Stay positive about, and be kind to, yourself. You are one promising young future foreign service officer. That dream will come through whether at SFS or one of the other fine schools.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. It’s just been a really stressful process so I’m hoping everything turns out well.

Interesting to me your initial post was flagged…but glad I could read it.

So many colleges - many - offer DC programs. And if you do IR, you’ll need a language at most schools.

You have a lot of rigor…congrats.

Unfortunately, your ACT is a bit low and that will hurt you in the Florida publics as well as UGA - not on your list but a strong IR program. I don’t see a cost on there - but as you know many of these schools are pricey. Many also meet need. So that’s good.

As a first gen (not sure 1.5 but that might not make you first gen)…and URM, you might look into fly in programs if it’s not too late. Many schools are seeking URMs.

I find your internships at embassies fascinating - please expand on that.

Anyway, I don’t see Gtown (test required) as a possibility nor do I see UF or Miami. FSU perhaps - and it’s a fine school. I think if you applied for summer it’s a yes. And since in Florida you have to go for summer anyway (9 credits i believe), then why not.

All the other programs I would apply test optional (no test) except maybe American. And for them, you need to demonstrate a lot of interest - so get on their websites.

I think your list is very reach heavy and it’s very possible you get into not a single school other than FSU. That said, IR is an interdisciplinary and liberal and can be studied anywhere - so check out other Florida schools or other lower tier schools.

Again, your internships might be a huge boost, if you are first gen and a URM it would help but I’m not able to grade how much they might.

Lots of great schools from a Charleston to an Arizona to an FAU would provide you a great education - and you need some safeties and matches.

Best of luck.
