No idea, I was wondering whether anyone on here commented on that! I know Georgetown usually posts on social media whenever admission letters are sent, but I just checked their twitter account and there’s nothing on there yet. Maybe they’ll update it later today?
@justliviglife ah I forgot to put so many things I was so tired… we don’t do weighted GPAs but I did get one award and I’m the only high schooler to do so! an EPA merit award for an enrichment program about marine advocacy and marine pollution which was then followed by a “deep” ocean clean up in which all the debris was catalogued and reported to the DEP. but that’s about it! Lol
I’ve seen multiple comments on this thread from people saying that they emailed their admissions rep about a certain issue; how did you all find who your admissions rep is? I tried a few months back and I couldn’t find anything. I just want to know now so that in the event that I’m deferred I can reach out. Thanks!
@maddyduv their info was given to me through the admissions office after I called
@ts2022 I’ve been checking their social media all day. Hopefully they’ll update it.
@mvboy99 That sounds cool! Georgetown admissions does a very holistic review, so sounds like you have a shot! I guess you’ll find out soon(:
@justliviglife Have they updated their social media in the past? Ahhh decisions are mailed!!!
I JUST NEED TO KNOW!! I’m so excited and nervous and anxious all at the same time!!
If anyone is checking social media to see if they posted, make sure the check the Georgetown Admissions profile not the regular Georgetown account!
@samseager5 what is the Georgetown admissions social media account? I haven’t been able to find a twitter account that is specifically for Georgetown admissions but maybe I just missed it. I feel like I need to just log off of social media until Friday because I’m so anxious/nervous!!!
@UgrdAdmissionGU
@maddyduv their admissions twitter is @UgrdAdmissionGU
nothing posted yet regarding mailing
@maddyduv @UgrdAdmissionGU on Twitter. I know exactly how you feel!! Stressing about this is definitely not helping me study for finals lol
@silverlemon A past applicant said they did update their social media account when they sent our letters. Someone said they called admissions and admissions said they were sending them out today, but we’re all just waiting for the confirmation(:
This is obviously way past mattering, but just out of curiosity, Georgetown no longer has a SCEA program right? They talk about it on their website, but it definitely wasn’t an option on the application.
Anyone knows about Iowa let me know? I’m very far away…
@justliviglife Yep, that’s correct! Here’s an excerpt from their website:
"Georgetown’s Early Action program is grounded in the belief that students should be free to choose among colleges until the Candidate’s Reply Date. Accordingly, accepted students will have the same reply date (May 1) as all candidates.
In keeping with this principle, students applying under the Early Action program may not apply to any binding Early Decision programs since they then would not be free to choose Georgetown if admitted. Students are welcome to apply to other Early Action programs or other Regular Decision programs while at the same time applying to Georgetown’s Early Action program."
@silverlemon Thanks! Ugh, I wish they had ED and I’m honestly kinda disappointed that they don’t reject early. It disables a lot of people from applying ED II to their second choice schools and doesn’t give a good indication of where people stand:/ oh well. The price of falling in love with Georgetown, haha
@samseager5 yep! Currently trying to study for my APES and AP Stat finals which are both tomorrow but I’m so nervous that I can’t focus
@justliving Same!! It would be so much easier to demonstrate interest with an ED plan:( I’m trying not to get my hopes up too high because I’m trying to limit my disappointment. But with Gtown, admissions can be unpredictable so there’s always a chance!! Ahhh.
