I called the admissions office and the man I spoke to said that because the Georgetown Application is through a third party venue, they do not send out confirmation emails. That being said, they will reach out to you if you are missing any part of the application. Hope this helps!
They definitely email you if something is missing. Last Monday I received an email that my test scores were missing. Everything had to be in the end of today to stay as EA, otherwise I would have been moved to RD.
My DS had his interview last week and did apply under EA. First time jumping in this thread and have called admissions once or twice. So decisions are mailed via USPS, not electronic? Sounds like mid-December is “D-day”…
@rendr1 - I do not believe that is correct. My DS applied EA (very early), we followed-up with admissions about the interview often…and he just had his a week ago. From the sound of it (based on the slots his interviewer had with other candidates), there were numerous other EA applicants who had yet to be interviewed before 11/1. Just my 2 cents.
Oh…and we did confirm all required materials were received well before 11/1 (aside from the interview).

Does anyone know if admissions decisions for EA are mailed on December 15 or we will receive them on December 15?
@samseager5 I don’t believe Georgetown has even set a date for release yet, but the date that they set for release is always the day they mail, so depending on your geographic distance from DC, you’ll get decisions either the day after or within the next couple days.
How set is Georgetown on SAT subject tests? Will it be a negative for not having any despite taking AP tests?
they recommend that you have 3. but if you applied early and don’t have them all, it shouldn’t matter too much especially since you’ve shown your strengths through APs. however, if you’re deferred (hopefully not!) I would definitely take them just so you’re at the same level as most other applicants. I think they care more about whether you’ve taken them to show that you’re really interested in Georgetown and doing everything they’ve asked for rather than how well you do (but still study because you don’t want to do too badly!)
My son has received an interview request without even applying EA. He has not sent the final application with essays etc. we did do the college tour in summer. is that normal?
@givemeblue I received my interview request before submitting my second application about two months before the deadline. I think that’s all normal.
Thanks !
Does anyone know if the letter size differs? For instance, at USC a larger letter comes if you are accepted. Does Georgetown do this as well?
@cwise11 It’s funny that you ask. Georgetown is actually notorious for their decision letters because they’re all the same size. If you really wanted to be able to know without opening it, I believe the defer postage stamp is 46 cents or something like that and the acceptance is a page or 2 thicker so it’s more expensive.
@dylanm47 You for sure have a chance. It’s not super strong, but if you have great ECs then your chance is higher. Just be sure to have back ups. All those other schools are harder or about just as hard to get into as Georgetown (except Vandy and NYU (of course still very challenging to get into)).
So, does Georgetown not release online decisions? I have been trying to figure this out for a while, (I even asked my campus tour guide), but I haven’t received a definite answer. From what I gathered on this thread, they mail decision packets on Dec 15? Does anyone know for sure? Thanks!
From what I have read, official decisions (accept and reject) are mailed. Per the admissions office, if the letter is lost in the mail, you can call them a week after Dec. 15 and they will inform you over the phone.
@maddyduv Georgetown does not release online decisions. They are for sure mailed. I am not certain if they are mailed or delivered on Dec 15, but they will definitely be mailed sometime that week.
@maddyduv As samseager5 said, Georgetown is strictly “snail mail.” This is straight from Gtown’s website, “Early Action applicants should submit all materials by November 1, and will be notified by the admissions committee of their admissions decision by December 15. Regular Decision applicants should have all application materials postmarked by January 10 and will be notified by admissions committees of their admissions decision by April 1. Accepted students have until May 1 to mail their deposit.”
However, I know people got decisions anywhere from 12/8-12/21 last year.
