@tmn2000 Based off of last year, I’m guessing they’ll be mailed on Wednesday the 13th. They’ll probably post on social media when they do mail them out. I haven’t called though! I don’t see the point. We know they’re coming within the next few days, so we might as well wait as agonizing as it is, haha
@takacatboy I did the same thing and took a gap year too! I am loving the gap year and I hope you are too! Good luck to you in your re-apps!
Just letting everyone know, I contacted my admissions officer and she said that the decisions will be mailed on the 13th again this year!
I wish they were mailing them out today – I feel like it won’t reach my house until at least the 16th then. Anyone know when we can call and ask?
When do y’all think TX will get letters? 16?
DD applied EA and completed an alumni interview over a month ago. Is there any place on the application site that we can see that the alumni submitted their feedback from the interview? It doesn’t appear on the applicant checklist and she did not get an email saying that the interview was completed or anything like that.
Good luck to all by the way!
@justliviglife Texas recieved theirs on friday 16th last year so I’m guessing we’ll hear back this Friday
This waiting is torture. Our snail mail is very unreliable so I am worried we wont get it either way.
@NVM1970 sadly, no. Georgetown doesn’t confirm receipt of anything, including the interviews. I’m nervous about this because I submitted an art portfolio by mail, and am unsure whether they received it. I also emailed my rep asking him to put in an updated resume and he didn’t respond to that either. I’m just hoping they got both of those things but there’s no way to know.
@angstyforadmission SFS traditionally has a lower rate of acceptance compared to the college, but it’s only about a percentage point, I believe. Mostly it’s because the SFS applicants largely know they want to do something politics-related, while the college has more undecided people.
So excited for decisions to come out! Question- if theres no subject tests in January, what will those of us who get deferred do? I have taken 2 SatII tests and I sent them to Gtown when I applied EA but I know they prefer to have 3 tests…
@takacatboy thank you endlessly for the advice, I appreciate it so much!! I’m so nervous for Friday but I know everything will work out in the end, even if I don’t end up a Georgetown the one thing that I have been worrying about is that my SAT score was also significantly lower than my ACT (1430 to 34) and I have one SAT II score of 640… but it makes me feel so much more at ease that you said scores aren’t a huge huge deal good luck everyone, I’m sure you’ll all end up at fantastic schools!
@laurenewton If you end up sending anything extra to your colleges, you can put in a prepaid/preaddressed postcard that they can send back to you that confirms they got your extra stuff. That is what my counselor did with some of my Georgetown submissions.
@skico2018 There’s not really anything you can do. I know some states were considering it just based on demand, but mine is not. You have 2, so that’s good! Try to improve in other areas!
@maddyduv Yeah a 1430 is by no means bad and the gap between mine was much worse. A 1320 to a 35, so I wouldn’t worry too much. Good luck to you, and feel free to DM me or tag me here if you need any more advice or help!
@takacatboy one more question, do you think a 34 is good enough? Obviously there’s nothing I can do about it now, just curious! And I guess I will find out Friday anyways
@maddyduv I just wanted to give my input. A 34 is most certainly good enough. The range is 32-35, so you’re in a great place. You have a great GPA, so you’re bound to end up at an awesome school. Seriously, if it makes you feel better, Georgetown has not rejected someone from my school with a 35 in the past few years. This year, 2 people with 35s are applying and one with a 36. I have a 33…haha…yikes. I’m hoping for the best, but seriously, I wouldn’t stress if I were you. You’re clearly qualified and you’ve done everything you can. Best of luck! I’m looking forward to seeing the turn out.
Also, remember that this is only the first round. There’s always regular!!!
anyone else really freaked out that letters are being mailed TOMORROW?!
@maddyduv A 34 is most definitely good enough! Think of it this way—a 33 is the 99th percentile, a 34 is also the 99th percentile, a 35 is also the 99th percentile. There’s essentially no difference there. The difference between you getting a 34 and 35 is basically nothing. You could have missed one question and that’s what gave you a 34 instead of a 35. I wouldn’t worry.
@takacatboy @justliviglife thank you both so much! And @justliviglife thank you so much for the kind words I’m sure you will end up at a fantastic school as well, even if not gtown! Best of luck to you too
