Hi all, I’ve been browsing this thread since it was created. I applied to the College and I requested an expedited decision because another school is requiring an acceptance decision by tomorrow. I received a call from an admissions officer saying that it was “likely” I would be admitted, and they would “advise me to hold out” for Georgetown. What should I make of this? Has anyone else here received a similar call, and were they later admitted?
@Hoyahopeful2016 how does one expedite the decision?
@hershey789 I don’t think there’s a formal process, I just emailed and asked, and then got the call, but haven’t received a final decision yet.
@Hoyahopeful2016 do you have an email address that you used? I also have a deadline for a university by the 15th. But for your case, its really disturbing that they put you in a limbo like that. But if you really like georgetown it seems like you are accepted and you should hold off. What you could also do is put down the deposit for somewhere else and later see what Georgetown says and withdraw from somewhere else. I was accepted to U Richmond and they said i can get a full refund for my deposit
@hershey789 Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately, I come from a low income background and I cannot afford the nonrefundable deposit fee to save my spot at the other school. They also don’t offer a waiver or discount for transfers, only freshmen. So I am taking a huge risk by waiting for Georgetown.

@vettransfer2016 yes I emailed them today! I called admissions first and someone gave me the name/email of the person reviewing my app and told me to ask them directly
