On the basis of the info. posted, it really depends on whether you want to spend four years in Atlanta or in Washington D.C. as neither school is well known for finance as are NYU or Penn, for example.

It depends on your financial condition, if money is a problem Emory would be a better choice....u save like 50k over 4 years and the reputation of the two b-programs are relatively on par with each other. Emory is even higher ranked than GT in Business Week.... but i never trust those rankings.

I can tell you for a fact that Georgetown feeds much more to Wall Street than Emory. Georgetown is 3rd with Goldman Sachs, 2nd with Merrill Lynch, and 2nd with Lehman Brothers were the latest statistics from recruiters from each of the firms.

Emory is a great school, but if you want to go on Wall Street, come to Georgetown.

Georgetown is better in Finance. In fact, Finance is probably Georgetown's best program. Emory is in the top ten as well. If Emory offered you 12K per year, it makes sense to go to Emory though.

It really depends on where you want to work. Emory will get you a top job in Atlanta, but you will really have to work hard to land one in New York. I agree with the previous poster who mentioned Georgetown's prestige on Wall Street. If you want to work at one of the big banks, Georgetown seems to be the place to go and will allow you to have access to the networking which will get you there.

One of my friends now a sophomore at Georgetown transferred from Emory because he wanted to be near his family in DC. If I correctly recall, he said Emory was stronger in the sciences, but there is a "certain charm Georgetown has that Emory doesn't." Whatever that means...Sorry, this probably wasn't very helpful lol.

Kornpopz - I second the difference in charm. My D who adores the campus, the setting and the feel of Gtown dismissed Emory saying "I don't want to feel like I'm attending college in the middle of a huge hospital complex."
