From my junior year to the beginning of my senior year, I have always been loyal to going to Georgia State. I managed to maintain a 3.8 GPA (including all honors and 3 AP classes) with a 24 ACT composite score and 1650 on my SAT. I was so attracted to the urban setting and diversity. I have applied early action and will be getting a decision back as soon as Monday (yay!), but I am beginning to have second guesses.

I have already been accepted in Georgia Southern and have applied to Kennesaw State. Georgia State lacks the traditional campus of KSU and Southern that I have come to love. But Georgia Southern is a little to far to my liking. My intended major is Marketing and based off what I have been told their business programs are on somewhat the same spectrum.

I want to have the complete college experience, but just can't seem to come to a final decision. Which is the best school? Can anyone shed some light on their business program and overall life (Greek life, campus feel, etc) ?

Georgia State is better.
I’m hoping you accepted Georgia State’s offer.
Georgia Southern has a terrible graduation rate, in part due to the bars that line the campus and where students go get drunk about any day of the week instead of preparing for class (sad, but true - and this is not your typical “this is college” situation). In addition, the mosquitoes are horrible.
I would also advise against majoring in Marketing, since among all business majors it’s the one with the lowest job placement and lowest salaries. Try your hand at different subjects before you commit to that major.
Great recommendation from @viewthroughkohl0 on the networking potential in Atlanta. Alumni networks are huge in today’s market. I wouldn’t listen to what the person earlier said about Statesboro and Georgia Southern. Frankly, every college town has bars and plenty of students getting drunk. Look no further than Athens and UGA if you need additional “proof.” haha
Anyway, all three schools are very different and you should pick the institution that offers you the most opportunity based on your interests.
@asuschoolboy: I said that the situation at GASouthern was beyond was you typically see… 4im well aware that college students get drunk; here, it’s an actual problem that affects class attendance and graduation for students who otherwise should be able to pass and graduate “on time”. For the remaining 20% students, the situation is also pretty difficult since they are a small minority doing what college students should be doing, but also to keep clubs alive, etc. Even on “work hard play hard” campuses, about half students don’t drink, so there’s a problem at GA Southern.
Overall, everyone is in agreement, which is rare for College Confidential: GAState – it is better for internships, has a better location and better academics…, but OP has not returned…
