Hi I’m currently a student with a GPA of 3.9, looking to transfer to a four year university and I have a few questions:
- Does anyone have any experience with the diversity in Georgia Tech? I'm a middle-eastern american and i have spent the past few years in New England so I was wondering how people are in Atlanta, Georgia.
- One of my college applications requires applicants to describe themselves in three words, do you think it would be a wise idea if I pick Iranian-American citizen since it's such a big part of my personality or do you think I should pick the more cliche stuff like hard working and ...
Thank you
Can a moderator move this into college search and selection or something else? This doesn’t belong in college computers.
Georgia Tech has about 55% white which is quite low for some schools. I think they are quite diverse compared to some schools.
Your second question I’m not really sure but does it ask to describe you or who you are think about that when doing the three words
Not “hard working”! That is often interpreted as you being a grinder.
Look up the Common Data Set for GT. Good info there on student races, etc
I live in Atlanta and I can say that I really like it. I’ve grown up in the south so I may be biased but I do have very liberal views and I don’t think that Atlanta is too southern in character. Tech is pretty diverse, which is rare for the south. If you’re going to venture outside of metro Atlanta, watch out for rednecks because they’re abundant. And I think your essay idea is good!
