Georgia Tech and University Illinois Urbana

I am a freshman civil engineer at Rutgers University New Brunswick, and am considering transferring to Georgia Tech or University Illinois Urbana Champaign after my sophomore year, and I would like to know what my chances are.

College Stats

1st Semester GPA: 4.0
2nd Semester GPA: Probably around a 3.8
So First Year GPA: 3.9
Honors College of Engineering
Scarlet Knight Scholarship
Engineers W/O Borders

High School Stats
SAT: 730 Math 640 Reading 690 Writing TOTAL: 2060/2400 or 1370/1600
GPA: 3.85 unweighted 5.35 weighted
Tennis, Soccer, NHS, Math Club, Math Tutoring, Italian Club, lots of AP's
Math II: 720 Math I: 690

Realistically what are my chances as a transfer as a rising junior to GTECH, UIUC, and possibly U Berkeley and if I have a chance any scholarship money possibilities?

Thanks!

UIUC seems like a match and georgia tech seems like a low reach or a high match.

which in your opinion is the better engineering school?

Georgia Tech i believe is better IMO.
UIUC is still quite good, i think it has the a very large library if i am not mistaken?

For Civil Engineering, UIUC is the better school, but GT isn’t far behind. For overall engineering, GT is the better school, but UIUC isn’t far behind.

In summary, they’re peer institutions. In fact, if I had to pick the school most similar academically to GT, I would pick UIUC and vice versa. You won’t find an appreciable difference between them in academic quality, career opportunities, or prestige. You will find a huge difference in campus atmosphere and weather, though.

I wouldn’t say GT is a better engineering school. Both are equal in terms of engineering.

So which do you think has “the better atmosphere”
