<p>Hi I am currently a Freshman at Georgia Tech and just finished my first semester here. Last year I really wanted to go to U of I and applied there as a Mechanical Engineering major. I was pretty shocked and angry when I learned that they had accepted me to the Division of General Studies. Fearing not being able to transfer into engineering, i applied to Georgia Tech and got in for the same major. After my first semester I am thinking I want to take another shot at getting into U of I engineering (I live in Chicago so as you can imagine Georgia Tech is a little far). I ended up getting a 3.8 gpa first semester which is really good considering Georgia Tech's reputation for being really hard.
Heres some of my high school stats and such
GPA: 3.8
ACT: 33
Cross country, band, track, and Young Life pretty much made up my extracurricular stuff
I am planning on applying for admission fall 2010 as a sophomore. I have 30 credit hours including APs completed and I will have taken all of the classes that a freshman ME at U of I would take. What chance do you think I have? Anything would be apprieceated</p>
