They aren’t known for giving significant aid, and they dont meet all of their needs for the need-based student aid. The majority of in state students get zell miller (0 tuition)
So basically, GT doesn’t really care about you unless you pay the big bucks…
@JHwang29 They’re a state run institution with a low acceptance rate. They don’t have the money or the incentive to give lots of scholarships. Plenty of people want to go there already.
@JHwang29 Well, I didn’t, because they say if you are Chinese and you apply for fin aid … you are getting rejected
I just want to let the EA applicants know that in my counselor minute report I received this week, that GT said the Jan. 14 notification date given earlier is definitely the date students will be notified. In the last few years, the date that GT gives is the date and they do not vary from it.
Good luck to everyone-enjoy the holidays and try not to stress over your chances at GT.
Has anyone else received an email from GT today?
@educationfan I did.
yes — The email said date of decisions (Jan 14th.) and if you decided to go elsewhere please withdraw your application.
Hmmm I wonder if they sent this email to everyone… Trying to read between the lines here:)
I got it
I received the email as well
I got it too.
** 29 days to go… **
X shivers with anticipation X
Is anyone responding to the email from GATech??
Why would you?
Do you mean the cancelling application part (I’m definitely not lol)? Or the email itself?
I guess the applicants who got accepted into ED at other schools would be doing that.
