Should we send a LOCI or just the 150 word essay?
@Captain229 -Since you homeschool, you would complete the counselors “mid-year report” from the common app and attach updated grades to that report.
@CSinPA Your welcome and again, a year from now I bet you will see how happy your DS is at his college. I will keep my fingers crossed for him for MIT.
Thank you, @itsv - I guess my question was more…does Tech really require the report for students who have been accepted EA?
@confused6789 I was told (in an email from admissions) that LOCI are not considered, but maybe someone in here will have something that says otherwise.
If you have some additional information to submit (new honor/award/accomplishment) that was achieved after you submitted your application, you should send that to your accommodation, noting your strong interest in GT. If it’s your first choice its ok to say so. But dont say that to multiple schools.
@Captain229 My DD’s school counselor sent it in to all schools that accepted her EA. You want to let the school know your student/child is still on track. Better to do it than not do it.
Will do - thank you, @itsv!
Has anyone heard about provost scholarships yet
@psawithguitar , nothing yet … but supposedly deadline is 2 weeks after EA result, which means if we don’t hear anything by this Saturday (1/27), we are not getting it.
Has anybody got the acceptance letter in mail?Nothing here…just wondering.
@priya2015 , nothing here either. I saw a twitter post that someone in-state just received their envelop yesterday. So if OOS, it will take a couple more days.
Just got my acceptance letter today and I’m OOS, albeit in Florida.
Here’s one thing that i’d say about sending a “yes, I"m still interested letter” …many times the college will say “it has no impact on admission so need to do it.” But my feeling is to send it anyway…what are they going to do? Reject you out of the deferred stack because you told them you’d like to attend their school? Say there’s a 10% chance that it’d have a positive impact…i am very comfortable with 10%. My 2 cents.
You have nothing to lose @SouthernHope that’s my mindset.
got the admission letter in mail today
@itsv My DS is another student (OOS male w high stats) who repeatedly reached out to his regional rep throughout the year only to get responses from current GT students. It was very difficult for him to establish that personal contact.
Got an admit letter but no word on provost
Oh well, one day left … if not hearing anything from provost by tomorrow, start preparing for full pay
My son received Provost Scholarship award this afternoon.
@C&KsMom Congrats to your son! Did your son receive an email to give him the good news?
