Georgia Tech Class of 2023 RD discussion/Results

does anyone know when the RD results are coming out this year. Is it March 8th Friday at 12 noon?

I think it’s Sat 3/09

According to the application portal, its March 9th.

They just sent emails out about 45 mins ago, its 3/09 at noon!

IS Georgia Tech expensive for OOS? What about Merit Aid…are they Generous?

@CS_Parent The OOS cost is available here: https://finaid.gatech.edu/current-cost-overview

Generally, OOS students should expect to pay the full cost of attendance. There are two main merit based scholarships available to OOS applicants, the Stamps President’s Scholarship and the Provost scholarship, but those both require students to submit early action applications and applicants have already been notified of their status for these awards.

There are many other merit and need based scholarships available through admissions, various academic departments, and local alumni clubs, but they tend to be smaller is size and have very specific award guidelines. Pretty much all students accepted to Tech are exceptional based on merit, so Tech does not have programs that offer financial awards based on test scores or national merit status

As a public school with limited sources of funding for scholarships and grants, Tech is simply unable to commit to meeting all need. For in-state students from low income backgrounds, Tech has funded the Tech Promise program, but expanding that program to cover OOS students would be financially untenable. This has nothing to do with Tech’s generosity; unlike some private schools with much larger endowments, the institute simply does not have the financial luxury of handing out large aid packages to all accepted students with need.

Guys, does anyone of you have a change in your portal?

Thanks @InPursuit

Does anyone know what the expected admit rate will be for students Deferred from EA? Also, is the admit rate on Deferred worse for OOS students?

Change in portal how so? Does everyone have under financial aid in buzz-port an authorization for financial student aid. Hoping that is a good sign for my student.

When do they announce? 12 noon EST?

Yes

40 mins to go.
And I have already started imagining about my rejection letter lmao

Same here. I ain’t expectin’ nothin’.

@CS_Parent D19 is OOS got accepted EA. About a month later she got an email that she received a merit scholarship through The College of Sciences that brought tuition to an instate level. It was completely unexpected and such a nice surprise, so it can happen for OOS students, but from everything we’ve read, I do think it’s rare. Go Yellow Jackets!

OOS deferred EA. I’ve got a 1560 SAT and 35 ACT. I still don’t expect to be accepted. I’ve been rejected by everyone.

accepted! probably won’t be able to go though

Denied. 1490 SAT 4.0 UW, OOS Female

Waitlisted. 34 ACT. 4.1 UW. In-state male.

Accepted. 34 ACT. 4.29. In-state male.
