I would like to apply to Georgia Tech for Biomedical Engineering either for Fall 2014 or Spring 2015. I currently a freshman at California State University Long Beach with a GPA of 3.7. In high school I was valedictorian with above a 4.0 GPA.
I have all the necessary classes in order to transfer, except one: English composition. I took two AP English courses in high school and therefore did not to take English when I got to college because of the AP credits (3s on both exams). What will Georgia tech think of this? All my grades for the engineering courses such as math and physics are really good. Is it a waste of time and money to apply right now without having taken English composition classes? What are my chances if getting in?

However, GT requires a 4 on the AP test to earn credit, and that’s only for ENGL 1101 (I think), so you still may have to take the equivalent of ENGL 1102. You may need to take an additional English class over the summer or in the Fall term, before you enroll at GT. However, get a definitive answer from GT’s admissions department!

Good Luck!
