Georgia Tech vs Michigan vs UIUC

Just a quick question
Currently, Georgiatech (6th)is rated at par with Michigan Ann Arbor(6th) and below Illinois Urbana Champaign (4th) at US news for Best engineering programs. But, in the recent past was the order of ranking different. If so, what was the order?

Which engineering program would you guys recommend me to go for from the above listed colleges?

People need to realize that the difference in these rankings is minute. Georgia Tech is an engineering school, whereas U-M and UIUC are not. Two are in the Midwest and one's in the South. It really depends on your preferences as the academics at all of them are great.

Well Matthew, my main concerns are the academics and the social scene at these places. I dont care a lio about other factors such as location, etc coz i am an intl. applicant.

Quizzard, there is almost no difference between #2 Cal and #11 Cornell...so there really is no difference whatsoever between #4 and #8. In terms of pure Engineering, GT, Illinois and Michigan are equals. In terms of overall academics (should you decide to change majors), Michigan is the most well rounded. As far as the social scene is concerned, again, I think Michigan is probably the nicest place.
