Hi,
I've been accepted to all these schools. I am leaving towards mechanical engineering but am not at all sure. I want to attend a school which is good overall for math/science/engineering so I can switch if I don't like engineering. I'm thinking of robotics too so CS or CE might be options, but not really strong ones. UTA (Cockrell school of engineering is giving me a scholarship too). Haven't heard from the rest. UCSD is giving me financial aid but not enough to cover out of state for the 1st year. But I'll be good after that once I become cali resident. I am OOS for all, so will have to pay non-resident fee any way but I am really poor (my dad is in Pakistan and I am in NC right now. I got into UNC but they're not good for engineering). Weather is a factor too. I've lived in Karachi all my life and tasted some of NC's cold in Chapel Hill. But I've heard the weather is really harsh in UI-UC and I am kinda scared of the cold. I have family in Texas so it's a factor too. Cali is expensive but I have family there, though not is SD. I know location/weather is a factor, but I want quality of education to be the biggest factor. Where will I have the best opportunities for research/internships, etc? Please help me. I am very undecided.
