Get off College Confidential

Really.

This may sound hypocritical because I am on here right now, but I am realizing that this is not the place to spend your precious college years.
I am also lessening the time I spend here.

Maybe you have a quick question about something, or need to look up something on cc. Great, do it.

But seriously guys, when you look back to the days of your youth, do you want to remember it as wasting time on cc????

You only get to go through this college experience once, so I am saying make the most of it.

College, and your life for that matter, wont last forever. You will graduate, you will get old, how do you want to remember your college experience, those years that everyone talks about?

Something to think about....

There is opportunity all around you, dive in.

Peace

I haven’t left this chair in 6 years and I’m not going to leave now.

Plus, if my calculations are correct, Summer is coming soon. I get bad sunburn so that’s a no-no.

refreshes page

Nope, no new posts

refreshes page

f5f5f5f5f5f5f5f5f5f5f5f5f5

Yeah, I’m not in college or high school so i have a lot of free time to ponder college stuff on the internet when it isn’t the weekend.

I totally agree.

I go back to college in a few months tho so no need to break the addiction yet :)

Like Facebook is any less of a time-waster?
Twitter?
Blogs?
OMGpop?
Netflix?

Lol it’s THE INTERNET. Are you seriously telling college students that in order to be social and have a good experience you have to stop going on the Internet? Wow dude.

Yes. Internet is a life-waster.

The average CC poster spends maybe 5-10 mins a day on here and posts less than once a day; how is that any more of a waste than other stuff people do like watching TV, going on Facebook, playing Farmville or Xbox or browsing ■■■ or picking their nose? CC is just another way people kill time in class/work or procrastinate. It’s not like we’d all be saving manatees otherwise.

Haha i do have almost 100 posts now, but you have way more - maybe we should both log off :P

What’s a huge waste of time is when people continually argue for weeks over something stupid like the “God” thread. Somewhere out there, an obese 21 year old thinks he can prove the existence/nonexistence of God on an online forum. :(

It creeps me out there are always like 70 page views for a thread within an hour - lots of creepy lurkers out there who never post, weird.

“Yes. Internet is a life-waster.”

Well it isn’t for me. It’s more of a stress reliever. I usually go online when I wake up to check Facebook, my email and CC, and then once again at night when I come home. Also I post a lot around this time (3 am) because I’m a bit of an insomniac. More so in the past month because I’m a CCC transfer, applied to six schools and I’m waiting on some responses. I have plenty of friends. I’m almost never home what with class, some family members I have to drive to certain places, and chilling with some friends. I feel like I have more than enough fun in my life, so what if I go on the Internet a few hours a day? Lol. I think you’re just bored and ■■■■■■■■.

Yeah youre totally right OP. Sometimes I get the opportunity to be social, but instead i say NOPE IM HANGING OUT ON A FORUM!

Stupid thread and TS…

…ftw

But the world outside is far too scary!

When i get on here, I usually have TV on too, therefore I’m not wasting my time.

You sir are my hero.

I’m about to GRADUATE from college and I have yet to break the addiction.

I’ve been wasting time on the internet since 6th grade, I think the only thing that could break my addiction is going into the military and going immediately to Special Forces training after boot camp. It was easier to quit smoking after a few months than it is for me to not waste time on the internet.

I just love coming here to see all the high schoolers squirm.

I spent one college summer in Iraq soo I don’t want to remember that…

And it’s hard to be social when your face is glued to the computer screen.

It was interesting to note how many admitted students on the HYPSM Class of '14 Results, were new CC members. Many, many had never been registered users, or had very low post numbers. I suspect that those students who are so involved in their ECs and academics that they do not have time for CC may reap a higher % of acceptances.
