Getting a Room Transfer (or at least requesting one)

When's the earliest one can feasibly make the request, what's the process for doing so, does doing it earlier increase the chances of it happening (ie "not lottery"), and how frequently do Freshmen in Unit X Triples get into Unit X Triples in Suite?

<.<

Jon wants to cook. A lot.

Well, I know some people that requested in the summer, like right after they got their offers and accepted them, and they all ended up in their requested dorms within a couple weeks. But right now the dorms are full (since some FPF people still don’t have rooms), so unless someone else switches into a Unit Triple from a Unit Triple Suite …

AGH, I got a Unit 3 Triple and I requested to transfer during the summer but they didn’t offer me anything.

So am I stuck with my assignments - -?

I was told that the earliest one could request a transfer was either the day of move-in or the first day of classes…by several people on here.

Anyone confirm/deny aduous’ info?

jonnosferatu-- I was assigned to Stern when rooms were first released, and a lot of the girls wanted to transfer out, and they were able to within a month. Some girls were able to transfer in, too.

I also have a friend (on Facebook, though) that’s in FPF and she still hasn’t gotten a housing offer. I assumed that meant rooms were full, but I don’t know for sure.

I was transferred from Bowles Hall to a Unit 1 triple mini-suite last year. Actually, one of my roommates and one of my suitemates were also transfers from Bowles Hall.

I’m not sure what the percentages of successful transfers are, but it does happen… pretty frequently.

If I remember correctly, I was told that I was put on a waitlist for room transfers. It’s not a lottery, so get yourself on that list ASAP!

Where do I make the request?

if you didn’t get a transfer already, you won’t getting one anytime soon.
