Housing Change/Transfer Offer - Anyone else want to switch?

I got a Unit 2 Triple, and I'm not too happy with that, considering I had doubles in all of my top 4.

Does anyone know the likelihood of getting to change by doing that transfer request described in the email? How exactly does it work? Should you put what you want in your email to them?
"If you would prefer to live elsewhere in the residence halls, you’ll need to accept this offer by the deadline to reserve your space and then contact us at reshall@berkeley.edu to be on the list for a transfer of assignment. Please include your full name and student ID number in your message, and "Transfer Request" in the subject line. Transfers are not guaranteed and would not begin until later in the summer or fall."

I really would only prefer a double in one of the Units. I'm gonna try calling Housing soon about this and ask some questions. Anyone with a double want to switch with me? Message me if so...

I applied for a transfer immediately after I was given a triple. They offered me a substance-free double room mid-semester but I turned it down. Right before spring semester, they offered me a double suite which I accepted. So to answer your question, it will take a few months at the very least to get out of your triple.

I also got a Unit 2 Triple and doubles were the only thing in my top 4. Also, Unit 2 wasn’t in my top 4 at all either. I even requested a roommate and he was given a double in Unit 3 while I was stuck in a triple in Unit 2.

I put in my transfer request immediately and mentioned him as a roommate and he put in the request too. Hopefully it will work out

Does anybody know if tranfer requests are ever fulfilled? And by when?

they have been fulfilled before. but i don’t know how long. i might considering trying to switch outta my triple. but then i’d have to pay more money. but i also have a lot of crap. hm

i’ll switch with you if i get the double offer. no response from housing just as yet for me :/

Quick question. Does changing roommate requests around apply to the directions about transferring provided in the email? Or do I have to wait till I move in to change things around?

Could anyone just inform me how they conduct transfers? I mean, what kind of excuses (not to be rude) do they accept? Or is it strictly just “if we can find someone to trade with you, we’ll do it” kind of policy?
