Hello everyone!
About three weeks ago, I completed an interview with a Brown alumni. Just now, I’ve received through Gmail another interview request from a different Brown alumni. Has this happened to anybody?
Hello everyone!

You should make sure that no signals got crossed, and that your already completed interview was recorded to the Brown adcom.
My interpretation is that your original interviewer never submitted the report, and the area chair assumed that you were not interviewed so reassigned. I would email the second alum, tell him/her that you were already interviewed and ask them to find out if the first interview was ever submitted.
The other possible scenario is that there was a problem with the first interviewer (complaints filed) so that all his/her interviews are being discounted.
Another possible scenario is a screw up by the area chair but I think first person never submitted a report is most likely.
@iwannabe_Brown The way the website works, I don’t think it can be a screw up by the area chair. You can’t assign the same applicant twice if the report was submitted.
Thanks everyone who replied! I asked the second guy, it seems that there was some mistake in the submission process. Wonder if it’s a bad sign…
It’s not a bad sign unless you believe that a black cat crossing your path causes bad luck or that throwing salt over your shoulder brings good luck.
For what it’s worth, I know someone who got a second interview with harvard (he applied ea) and ended up getting accepted early–I wouldn’t stress!
Interviews, unless they go terribly, aren’t really a massive factor in your admissions decision. It’s just a logistical discrepancy.
