Getting caught drinking at dorms

I just recently got written up at UCI for drinking at the dorms. I was just wondering if anyone else got written up and how did they deal with it? Also have anyone got caught multiple times? and what happens then?

I got written up once but literally nothing ever happened to me, but no one cares about drinking at my school. Friends of mine got caught like four times and nothing happened to them either.

Anyone else start humming “ICU at UCI…”?

Write ups at my school can effect your housing for the next year (you get a lower, therefore crappier, spot in the housing lottery) and your registration times. It really depends on the culture of the school, like RoxSox says, I have friends at bigger schools who have been written up 3 or 4 times and nothing happened to them.

I have heard if you get caught where I am you get kicked out. Only if you are 21 or over, and are in a wet dorm, can you drink. Even then, you have to be in your room, otherwise you get a strike. 3 and you are kicked out. Under 21, one and you are out.

However, I have never seen this happened, and if it weren’t for dry pledging, I would know of it happening a ton more. People drink in the dorms all the time, RA’s really don’t care to notice. They’ll only do something if you are either on their “**** list” or are doing it right in front of them.

That happened to one of the people in my hall last year. Nothing really happened. The person still got through the year and laughed it off…

I keep hearing about all you other people drinking at UCI, and I just don’t get why you are so insistent on getting an alcohol fix! Can’t you guys find something better to do with your time? And you seem to be planning on drinking some more and are preparing for getting written up again. Like, honestly, man. I’m at UCI. Only one person in my hall drinks, and even then, he does it only with his frat. There are other ways to entertain yourself than getting drunk, okay?

^Lol, relax. Let people do what they want, everyone has a different idea of a good time.

Just quit getting written up, people! Lol…lock your doors when you’re drinking, don’t have 20 people in your room, and be quiet. It’s not hard.

Best idea is to just not drink in your dorms. Go to a fraternity house … or YOUR fraternity house. That latter one always works.

I go to UCD and my friend was written up for being drunk in (but not actually drinking in) the dorms. He just had to go to some seminar about alcohol. Not sure what happens on subsequent offenses or at other schools. Just be careful; stay quiet and keep it on the DL.
