Getting classes

I am a transfer student to DU starting winter 2015. I have a couple questions.

Do classes fill up quickly? If they do is it possible to still get a seat even if theres no waitlist or no waitlist seats left.

Is it possible to not get any classes related your major in a given quarter? I'd rather not go a quarter without classes related to my major.

Thanks!

Hard to tell, but my D had a very hard time getting her classes for next quarter. Maybe others can help more, but I am guessing its hard.

P

S was shut out of a class he needed (at the time he needed to fit his other classes; another section was open, but would have required juggling). Emailed the prof and was allowed to add it manually; took care of it that day. No hassle at all. It was a freshman class for computer science. I noticed that many of the sections of the required writing classes were full, but there was plenty of room in the sections at less desirable times (8 am, 4 pm).

Might depend on the major and the profs.

thanks for the feedback!

I am a math major so hopefully it’s not overly difficult.

I’m pretty sure seniors get first crack at registering for classes, then juniors and so on. Registration for the winter quarter was last week I believe.
