She's a junior. We're getting three or four pieces of college mail a day. A lot of places I have never even heard of. Son is getting quite blaise (blase', blasie?) about the whole thing, but is starting to not complain and kind of look forward to some of the upcoming visits.

Oh, I thought SBMom had a senior. I must be confused :)

Because my D applied to Kenyon, & more stuff came fairly recently. Some of it we may have gotten already, but I did not take such a close look before.

Oh, ok. My D was accepted to Kenyon ED so she already know she is going there next year. She hasn't been receiving their latest mailings, but their website is very extensive and has a lot of information for anyone who is interested. I think it will be a very good school for her!

The campus is exquisite isn't it?

Good luck to your D at Kenyon. My friend's D goes to K and she LOVES it.

That's good to hear! Is she a freshman or has she been there several years? What is she studying? No one we know personally goes there, that's why I am so interested!

She is a junior. I think she's in the English/Lit dept. She is from a large city on West coast and loves small town Ohio life at Kenyon.

If you ask at Admission office they can probably give you some names & numbers of students to email or call to chat about the school...

Thanks, we are going to try to go to admitted student days in April, so we will meet people then!

Oh! I thought we were talking about C-Mudge's daughter. This thread is so long that I read it a little too quickly. But, SB is right, that mail doesn't stop until late spring or even the summer sometimes.

"Whose on first ?". LOL. Curmudgeon's daughter is a junior and is receiving tons of new mail with an obvious PSAT connect (because they mention it). She has received nothing new from Kenyon. D is family friends with the local Kenyon alumni interviewer and let's say that she gets Kenyon insight at regular intervals. D's major concern with Kenyon is finding adoptive parents to pay for it.

Curmudgeon - I am not trying to "sell" Kenyon to you or your daughter, since you obviously know a lot about it through your family friend. But if money is the major concern, I would like to say that, from what you have shared about your D, it seems like she would be a prime candidate for their Honor Scholarship or their Science Scholarship which, I believe, provide half of tuition. Kenyon's tuition is high and its room and board fee is low, giving a total fee similar to other private colleges. The breakdown really doesn't matter because everyone pays room, board, and tuition, but for these scholarships which provide half tuition, it means that the award would be very substantial.

As this has moved into a Kenyon thread. . .one of my nephews is a first-year student there and I suspect he'd answer some e-mails asking about his experience and/or chat with any visiting CCers.
