I was thinking of doing this instead of getting them here. They said it costs $100 for MMR. Is this a good idea?

i got mine from the health center, and it only cost $5.00 for the MMR and 15 for the Menengitis (wrong spelling). its A LOT easier, and cheaper at the health center

$5.00? How is it possible that I heard it so wrong? Is it covered by the NYU health insurance?

no. that is in the georgia health center. sorry i didnt say that. you should just get it in your state health center, its much cheaper than 100

what is MMR?

Measles Mumps and Rubella. most ppl got them when they were young, but some didnt.

does anyone know how much the meningitis vaccine is @ the nyu center? the entire state of ny has run out of the vaccines and the soonest they can get them is september or something... so I'm probably gonna get mine while I'm @ NYU I guess

Same happened earlier here in TX...had to wait two months for it. At least it doesn't hurt :).

yours didnt hurt? i got it last wednesday and my arm started hurting that night and didnt stop until yesterday. it was really odd.

these shots.. are they butt shots or arm shots?

haha the meningitis is arm (i was worried about that too!!!). i dont remember about the other one cuz i got them when i was little.

I was worried about it being a butt shot too! I asked the nurse and she laughed and said it was the arm.

Yea, it is sore for a couple of days afterwards (I couldn't swim for two days b/c my arm was too sore) but when you get it doesn't hurt at all. If I wasn't looking while she stuck me I wouldn't have even known it was in there. Or maybe I'm just weird...
