getting into a top 50 school for finance

<p>okay, i live in nyc.</p>

<p>currently a sophmore</p>

<p>lets say i maintain a 90.0 average for all my classes</p>

<p>no honors, no ap no nothing. regular leveled courses.</p>

<p>then lets say i get a 2150 on my sat's</p>

<p>700 math 700 uh w/e 750 w/e</p>

<p>with 1-2 co curricular activities</p>

<p>and about 20 hours of community service</p>

<p>will i get into something like boston college?</p>

<p>i know NYU is like a PLEASE GOD PLEASE</p>

<p>but the reason why im not in honors is cause well.. i get verbally harassed in hs and its kinda tough when u have 900+ students going at you all the time, and it just brings me down... really hard.</p>

<p>so if i put that into my essay for NYU, do u think they'll have some sympathy?</p>

<p>I think it’s too early, but if you do get a 2150 & are really involved in your ECs, you should get in

<p>No sympathy. Your case sounds… lame. Why, and how, could you let 900+ people talk down to you. What would make you deserve it, and how does that even matter?</p>

<p>That is a WHOLE lot of "lets says"s…I don’t think anyone can chance you with a bunch of unvalidated information. Also – I have to slightly agree with electricinjasex. Although I don’t know your situation at all, there are many many kids who apply to schools that overcome horrible hardships, but they don’t let it hinder them from taking difficult and challenging classes.</p>
