Getting into B-School with a UK Degree

Hi, I was wondering if American B-schools usually prefer to take locally educated students over those who study elsewhere. For me, the decision is between a US and a UK undergrad degree (University of Southern California-Business vs. University of Manchester-Economics to be precise) and although I am considering the UK for undergrad studies, I am certain I want to do my MBA in an American uni. Will studying in the UK hurt my chances, and how big a factor is the school I attend? I am not certain of the reputation of the Uni of Manchester in the US, its pretty renowned worldwide but it sure isn't Oxbridge.

I would also like to know whether entry to B-school hinges more on the job I secure upon completing my undergrad studies and my work experience rather than the school I attend.

Feel free to comment and offer advice, thanks :)

As you stated, the admissions are based on a number of different things. How well you do in your undergrad probably has as much to do with it as where you go. Then, more importantly is your work experience and GMAT scores, letters of recommendation, etc… If you do well in all of those other areas, USC or Manchester will both offer good chances.

A large percent of students at most top MBA programs were not educated in the US for undergrad.
