Getting into berkely from CC for Civil Eng.?

Hi, I was home-schooled since day 1, and after i graduated high-school in 2008, I went to a local community college in California, I never took the SAT or any of those kind of exams.

Im a male that lives only a few miles from UCB

My GPA is about 3.7-3.8, but that also includes non-transferable classes like Intermediate Algebra, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus... My GPA would probably be slightly lower (around 3.5) if you ignore the non-transferable courses...

I never worked, I dont volunteer or play sports, and I don't have any kind of "achievement"...

My question is this, am I wasting my time thinking about Berkley's Civil Engineering? UC Davis would probably accept me (guessing), and from what I know, they arent that bad.

Would I have a chance at Berkley or not?

Help would be appreciated.

P.S. My average semester load is 14-15 hours

P.S.S. Im going to remain in the Community College till next fall to finish up all my required coursework... If that matters.

bump [;

…

If you had to take Intermediate Algebra, Trigonometry and pre-Calculus at your CC it sounds like you did not learn very much math as a high school student. To consider you as a viable candidate for admission to the engineering Department at UCB you are going to have to have completed at least two and preferably three semesters of Calculus at your CC with grades of at least B. Given your very weak math background when you entered your CC, I am assuming you have not taken any Calculus based Physics courses yet and possibly no Chemistry either.

Your lack of ECs will probably hurt you some but not nearly as much applying from CC as a transfer as they would if you were applying as a Freshman.

I could be wrong but unless you have taken and done well in a number of terms of Calculus and Physics at your CC I do not think your chances are very good.
