I will be a sophomore next year.. I want/need to take ENGRD 2100 and Phys 2214 next semester.. but the labs and discussions I want for those two classes have already been filled, and I really can't do any other timeslot. I didn't pre-enroll in them because i wasn't quite decided on my major yet.

How easy is it to get into classes that have already been filled? I understand the best bet is probably talking to the teachers but... idk if that is going to work because they could ask me to take them in the spring : ( i guess i don't have to take them but if i don't my schedule ends up being very empty.

Help me! Any experience/comment is appreciated.

i’m not familiar with these classes in particular, but for bio, chem, and other classes, i’ve found that if i just keep checking student center often, there eventually are openings, and i’m always able to get in the class i want. but again, not familiar with these classes in particular.

Just stalk the add/drop system when it opens, and wait for people to drop which almost always happens. If not, you may be able to get in the class by begging the professor, though this is unusual. Me and a few other students managed to get the cap raised for a class last semester from 75 to 90 students.

thanks guys! ya the classes are sort of prerequisite for a major… but on the engineering major chart, they are both in the 4th semester… mm the reason i’m concerned about stalking add drop is because they both have labs… and missing a lab in one class can mean tedious things like failing or making it up…
