Getting into Georgetown University with low SAT score?

I recently applied EA to Georgetown university and while I know my chances of getting in are low, I'm not really sure how low.
My SAT score was 1950, not even close to the average, and I haven't taken my SAT subject tests yet but will be taking Lit, Math I, and U.S. History.
My unweighted GPA is around a 3.75-3.8, weighted being a 4.35-4.4
Class Rank: second or third/270, I'm not sure what my rank and GPA are exactly, but I expect to graduate 1st or 2nd.

I'm currently taking 5AP classes in my senior year: AP Lit, Calc, Gov (1st sem), Econ (2nd sem), Psych, and Bio. Past AP scores, 5 on U.S. History and Lang, and 4 on World History.
Extracurriculars: Model UN (President), NHS (chair of community service), Student Council, and others throughout my high school career that I can't quite recall.

One of my defining points, and what I think will make me stand out, is that I was born in Bulgaria and move here when I was 9 years old. Coming from a newly recovering post-communist country, I didn't have good educational opportunities. Once I started school in America though, I started taking only accelerated classes and skipped 7th grade; as a result, I am the youngest senior at my school. My background gives me great diversity, perspective, and adaptability, and I was sure to highlight this in my application. I know that my SAT scores are low, I'm not sure why considering I do great in school, but I will also take the ACT.

I applied to the School of Foreign Service because I would like to pursue a career in international politics, with my background in international diversity. I made it clear that I was highly interested in the university (it is my top choice), and that my competitive nature would hopefully make me one of their most persevering students.

If it wasn't for my standardized testing scores, I know that I would have a great chance of getting in, but because of them I can't stop freaking out. What do you think? Could I get in early decision anyway? I had an interview as well and the interviewee said that I seemed very driven and would be a perfect candidate, but I think that my SAT score will ultimately be my downfall.
P.S.- I have taken the SAT twice and don't think it will look good if I take it again

What was your SAT breakdown? Georgetown doesn’t look at the writing, part, so if you didn’t do well on that, your chances are higher. I don’t think you will get in early because you haven’t submitted any subject tests. The recommendation is three. With a sub-par SAT score, you need other aspects of your application to make up for it. Do well on the subject tests (and ACT) and you will have a much better shot.

Note that Early Action is the policy employed by Georgetown, not Early Decision. Most people whom I’ve talked to who have had an interview with Georgetown have said that it went well (including me). I don’t know how much of a difference the interview will make.

It is not the time to freak out yet. Unless freaking out means studying crazily, then don’t freak out. You still have time to bolster your application… The clock is ticking. :)

If you are ranked 2nd or 3rd at your school with a 1950, your school may not be very competitive. Universities will look into that. I’ve seen my fair share of valedictorians with an 1800. I have a 2200 and am nowhere near that mark. Either way, try to get it up to at least 2000 or 2050. Being from Bulgaria may give you a competitive edge. Good luck!

Lol guys, this person already knows their decision from EA/RD…

ive heard Georgetown does accept in general or prefers students coming from international countries with different culture and background. correct me if im wrong but does anybody here agree to this?
Also, whats the general SAT score required by Georgetown to get into SFS?

Guys, I’m in the same position-- I appeared for my SATs twice, and bombed them each time. Got 1960-ish. However, I’m an international applicant ( from Pakistan) and I stand out in my EC-- Debating President, Valedictorian, top 10 in my school ( which is very competitive), founder of an NGO etc. what are my chances? Im applying regular decision, for political science…i’ll also be applying for financial aid. What do you guys think?

oh, Im going to give my SAT 2’s next week–US hist and lit.
