I'm a CCC student applying to Haas for Fall '08. Because of certain circumstances, I couldn't take Calculus until this semester (Spring 08).

With the exception of this IP prereq, I have a solid app:

-3.5 years working for Sony (I'm a Manager today)
-Founded 501(c)(3) Non-Profit and several LLCs.
-4.00 GPA while working 40+ hours a week at Sony
-Strong essay(s)
-All other prereq's complete

As I said, I'm talking calculus now, but a little birdy told me that not having Calc finished by the Fall automatically disqualified me.

Is there any truth to this? Am I screwed regardless of how strong my app is?

You raise a great question Carson. I would like to hear some answers on this as well. I am in progress with calculus and my literature requirement with all other prerequisites completed with a 4.0 GPA, along with strong extracurriculars, work experience and a great story. Does Haas ever offer conditional acceptances such as if one finishes the current semester with a certain grade on an uncompleted prerequisite, they will let you in?

But I am 100% sure of two things that will happen to you:
1) They are going to ask for mid-term grades
2) May delay your admission decision until they have your final grade in Calculus.

Calculus is a pivotal course for Business students.

If you are applying for a junior, you have a very bad chance.
For sophomore year, ur ok.

i was going to take calc 1 this spring, but i talked to a haas counselor and she told me to take calc 1 in fall. She said haas knows what applicants are trying to do when they try taking it in spring. She said applicants know that they might get a B, so they take it in spring. Luckily I ended up taking it in fall and got an A, and now I am taking calc 2 just to be more competitive.

I still think you have a great shot though.
