My guidance counselor has recommended I attempt to apply to NYU Tandon and I would like to know other people’s thoughts. My GPA is a 81.3 (2.8) and I got a 1120 on the SAT. For extracurriculars I have done 3 years of robotics and our team won a competition. A lot of my time was also spent helping my stepfather and mother with things at home because they had to work and I am Mexican. If I do apply I plan on doing it through HEOP. I know my chances of getting in are low, but I would still like to hear other people’s opinions on it
I have no idea. But why would you value the opinion of strangers online over that of your guidance counselor, who knows you, your academic resume, and your general application strengths and weaknesses?
There are quite a few posts here by HEOP applicants, suggest you search them and look through them. I have seen those kind of stats mentioned in the HEOP threads.
Agree above that if your counselor has suggested it, it is probably with good reason.
