HEOP GPA Requirements

Note: Please do not make fun of me or be rude, I genuinely have a question that concerns most students in the United States.
I want to apply to Cornell University through HEOP. I heard HEOP gives an advantage to students with low income an opportunity to apply with a GPA range below what is expected. I am a girl who’s gpa is a 3.2 but showed tremendous growth throughout my sophomore year and junior year. I didn’t have the opportunity to take the SAT due to the pandemic and is it possible that I may get accepted since I’m applying ED and through HEOP? If not, may you list some good universities that I may qualify for as well?

Your GPA is too low.

You’ve tagged NYU, I think you could get in via HEOP with that GPA. They have a fair amount of information about their opportunity programs on their website, and I’d suggest you look at that. I don’t know anything about Cornell’s HEOP program. I’m not sure if the first response above is specifically HEOP related or someone looking at the usual Cornell entrance requirements.

Edit: I am assuming you are a NY state resident, and thus eligible for HEOP.

Thank you for bringing my confidence up! I’ll definitely apply to NYU during the ED 2 process. Do you have any more colleges/universities that should match my criteria?

SUNYs could be a great fit for you. But did you end up doing ED to Cornell?
