Getting into OSU

I was wondering what kind of chance I had to get into OSU this year. I have a 3.7 GPA, but a 22 on my ACT (I’m taking it again in December). The only extra activity I did in high school was wrestle. I am the captain of my wrestling team and a four year letterman. I do not plan on wrestling in college though. I am in the top quarter of my class.

If you are from Ohio you will at least be able to go to a regional campus and then transfer after a year. The average act for the recently admitted class was 28. So you really need to get that up.

Good luck in December, I hope it goes well for you.

Thanks for the feedback and I borrowed a practice CD from my friend who says that it helped him a lot. So hopefully I will get at least a 26 on it

I think a 26 would give you a much better chance! Osu has gotten hard to get into. The good thing is it is easy to transfer to, so the opportunity to graduate from a great university is always there!

solid GPA, hopefully you bumped up that ACT. I agree w/ mspearl, transferring is always a viable option.

This site makes me so depressed. I feel like no one thought I could get in. I got in on dec. 8th with a 3.7 and a 23. I had a 22 but I retook it. So basically I was freaking out for months believing I wouldn’t get accepted. I wouldnt necessarily say i got in easily because of my URM status; my white friend got in with a 23 and a 3.7 with no extracurricular activities. I’m not saying you’re gauranteed in, no one knows. There’s people with better stats who have been rejected. I’m just saying not to rely on people on this site with no knowledge on every single person the university accepts. Their opinion won’t give you a better chance of getting in. In your case it will only put more stress on you. Best of luck though. I realllly hope you get admitted :)
