Hi! I really want to attend Rice, but I have a limited number of schools I can apply for.
I am a rising senior and I am attending an IB school
Majority of my classes are IB/AP
Weighted GPA: 6.1
Unweighted GPA: 3.7
5's on AP Lit, Euro, and US
3 on AP Stats
President of Best Buddies
Vice President of Adventure Crew
In a selective Government youth group
300+ community service hours
Multiple Honor Clubs
ACT: 30 (I have taken it 2 additional times)
I am also in the top 2% of my county and top 10% of my school

Thank you so much!

First, I hope you understand that no one really knows, it is just a guessing game and not to be taken seriously. On what measure are you in the top 2% of your country --it is national exams? 30 is in the bottom 25% of accepted students. So it is in the range of students they accept, but 75% of accepted students score higher. Are you getting a scholarship?

I totally understand that, but I was hoping that I could get a better picture on what others received and guidance based on the information I have given.
I am top 2% in my county. My high school has an application process and only selects 150 students out of 400+ applicants. Also, my report card states my ranking within the county. This is based on test scores and GPA. I hope this clears up any confusion. Furthermore, I don’t have a scholarship for Rice University.

I suggest you do some reading in the Rice forum. In most of the individual college forums, applicants post results threads each year. Of course, being an international applicant you can’t really compare admissions results with US students, but internationals likely post there too, maybe just not as often. Good luck.
