Getting into SCU with a low gpa..and sat...cringed while typing

applied ea. 84 gpa, 1210 sat score. (670, 540…) I’m hispanic and poor and I believe I have a decently compelling ‘justification’ given my working to pay bills single parent household, involvement in church/immigration affairs etc. really good recs. Basically I think my application would be sort of solid if my gpa wasn’t sooo terrifying–I feel as though my ec’s and stuff could ‘cover’ a low gpa or sat, but not both lol. I have a lowkey noteworthy trajectory and I’m a first gen. I feel like such an idiot for listing all these details but I’ve been obsessing over college data and I know there’s no concrete algorithm for admissions but do you think I should just forget about it, consider myself rejected and open my Phoenix online app? i just truly have no idea how my life is going to pan out within the year. thank you

84 isn’t a bad average. Your SAT is decent. You’ve applied, so now work on refining your essay and be sure you have a suitable range of schools, inlcuding a few safeties you like and can afford.

I assume you used the additional info section to explain your family circumstances? If not, that will be important.
