I'm 30 years old and I'm going back to college. I was planning on being an engineer but I've been having second thoughts about it. I don't think I will enjoy it as much as I initially thought I would. I have very good grades so far (4.0) and am thinking about applying to UCSF pharmacy school since they will take transfer students with 62 units. Other schools in my area want a bachelors degree already completed. I have a limited amount of time to be in school and if i get into UCSF I could just barely make it. I can't move too far away to go to school because of my children. It's very hard to get into UCSF. If I maintain my 4.0 do I have a good shot of getting in? They only accept about 1 in 10 applicants, and i assume they are probably almost all good students also. I'm afraid of taking the rest of my prerequisites next semester and not getting in. Then I would have to take a degree in biochemistry which isn't necessarily bad but its not what I want. Any ideas are welcome.

100% o fmy UCSF classmates held bachelor’s degrees with some even having Masters, PhDs, and JDs. It id VERY rare that UCSF will allow you to transfer despite the 4.0 GPA. Although they look at GPA, they look also evaluate your course work taking into consideration whether or not you have completed your pre-reqs
